This conference will include:

Starting in March 2009, CMS has expanded the RAC audit program – designed to “detect and correct improper payments” by the Medicare program to providers – to healthcare providers in all 50 states.

Unlike any other CMS audit program, Congress requires Recovery Audit Contractors to be paid for their services through contingency fees. That means auditors will be looking for every misspent penny. During the three-year Demonstration Project that focused on only five states, RACs identified $992.7 million in alleged overpayments.

What’s your possible exposure? What can you learn from the providers who’ve already been audited? Listen to experts from EpsteinBeckerGreen on this 90-minute Audio CD (recorded late March 2009) that takes you inside CMS’ implementation of the now-nationwide RAC program.

You’ll receive an in-depth discussion of the findings from the Demonstration Project, an explanation of RAC review procedures, and practical tips to prepare your organization for a RAC audit.

Specific topics include:

• What’s the RAC program all about – including what claims are subject to review, contractors’ review methods, and limitations on medical record requests

• Lessons learned from the Demonstration Project, including RAC findings related to medical necessity and coding reviews

• Proven procedures and strategies for appealing RAC audit findings

• How to develop an action plan to prepare your organization for RAC audits

Who Will Benefit
• Provider Executives
• Compliance Officers
• In-House Attorneys
• Internal Auditors
